Added: Shifting from animal form to animal form is dangerous and almost always results in a misshapen fusion between the two animals that is quite permanent. Therefore, a shifter must reassume their normal form (human/elf/orc...etc) before shifting into another animal form.

Changed: Previous to normal.

adding this into the discussion a little late... but i had a fleeting idea with the summoner where by spending more SS on a particular creature you get a slightly modified version of it.

say a pool dweller by spending 3 ss on it instead it becomes slightly acidic in its composition, making it's attacks burn mildly as well as any contact with the creature more dangerous...

had this idea to bring it up to date with a (in some ways) more powerful animist class

@ssk yeah i hit a bit of a snag when i lost half my work on it... all i had left was the human parts and then i was done for a first draft, now i'm back to half was through the animal parts...

If my mod brothers all (or at least mostly) agree, then I say that we implement the following changes:
The SS class revamp (And the retooling of any current shapeshifter characters) (Sorry Nuncia!)
The half skill/special refund when selling pets.
and
Adding to the MTs that they are able to gain access to various weapons other than the whip for the cost of a skill. (Requires mod approval)

Are we agreed?

So then am I to be re-approved for my character as long as my specials aren't completely ridiculous and improbable? How would I go about doing such a thing, getting re-approved? Just post saying I have edited as per the revamp, and go it that way?

(Sorry for coming up on this late, stuff came up more than once... But Im glad for the revamp either way! Thanks Yozshand and others!)

you'll probably just need to work it out with a mod through PMs or just post it again in general chat. either one works.

Maybe one day our characters will cross in Di and it'll be hell to pay for all others, lol

If these changes are to be made, can we go ahead and post them to their respective class pages?

You are the only SS on the site at the moment.

To be honest, most classes are rare on this site. I'm pretty sure that there isn't a single class with more than two people in it (except for the assassin, that is). I could be wrong, but from the top of my head I can't think of one. I know that we used to have MA's and Assassins galore (over half the site was part of one of those two classes), but now things have evened out quite a bit. It's actually kind of nice. :)

Oh my.... I thought SS would be a popular one, but yea, assassin is very popular, same as ninja and mages... Magic being a fairly popular thread here... But seriously. Only one SS in all of DI. (at the moment)

I kinda feel... honored i guess..... wow....

So that means that very few people have encountered them... oh teeheeheeheee *cough* ahem, sorry.... Was just thinking of all the mayhem she and i can cause, hehe....

enjoy it while it lasts. With these changes I wouldn't be surprised if more cats started dragging in Shapeshifters. =P

I dont know about that. Yes it makes it better in ways, but it also complicates it more in the comparisons of alternative characters... I find that most people new to a site would rather start out simple than complex, unless your arrogant or confident, or insane, like me...

I wanted the challenge, as quoted before;

Yozshand wrote:
...Some would say too powerful, but fighting tooth and nail against someone with a seven-foot reach that can cleave you in two is really difficult. Nevermind if they're wearing armor. That stuff is just nasty!

Even with the extra power, your still up against serious ranged attacks that either you dodge, or you get hit with. If you cant rush em and pin em, your dead. So you have to be able to maneuver well within areas, as well as see the layout of the area of battle that you are in at that moment, to utilize any leverage you can.

Its a lot more than "Im a Cat! Rawr! I calw you!" Because the next guy could go "Im a wizard. Magic Missile." and your dead. (sorry for the dnd ref, but i had to, lol)

Not that im saying all the other classes are easy, believe me, ive taken a look at them, and alchemist would drive me insane. And MT, same thing. They each ahve their ups and downs, but most are ok against range... they have some kind of defences against it. SS only defense against range (unless you have a nifty special) is to bull rush them in the face so there are no ranges. :P
