Name: Eidolon
Class: Knight (Samurai)
Race: Human
Alignment: Neutral
Inventory: Left hand gauntlet, Longsword, leather armor minus the gloves.
Gauntlet Description A gauntlet which covers the left hand and forearm, on the back side of the gauntlet is metallic reinforcement, especially along the forearm, where there is a solid metal piece which seems to be quite useful for defending against attack much in the way one might use a buckler. On the underside of the gauntlet is a dark leathery material. The metal appears to be rather smooth with an almost marble-like sheen and is a faded grey color. Those who are sensitive to energies or who have "special eyes" will immediately notice something special about the gauntlet, and likely feel that something is off about it.
Gold: will sort it in detail out after handling inventory. (4)
Pet: Nope
Specials/Spells List: Cape of Illusion, Spectral Conduit, Will-o-wisp
Skills List: Ghost Knight's Reflection, Uncanny Vibe, Ethereal Language
Biography: "Eidolon" is a wandering knightly figure who us usually spotted at remote locations, especially locations where the dead are present, such as ancient graveyards, abandoned battlefields, or old tombs. Though sightings are somewhat uncommon, Eidolon has garnered a bit of a negative reputation among those who live in the few small-town and rural areas within the nearest vicinity to his usual haunts.

As a result, there have been a number of would-be local heroes who have sought him out in an attempt to subdue him, so far all of these attempts have resulted in failure, with the heroes being sent back to their homes be they dead or alive. Those who survive often tell horrible tales of their experiences. They speak of the ghastly knight and how the mere sight of him nearly caused their legs to tremble, they speak of how they had to force their bodies to move against their will in failed attempts to stand their ground at his approach, and how much more ferocious he began to appear when witnessing his skill with a blade. How they ran and ran, and how they can still hear the soul wrenching sounds of those hollow, raspy breaths, the furious fluttering of a his blood-stained cape.

Eventually, as the knight suddenly became more elusive, and more of these would-be heroes started returning empty-handed. These stories gradually faded into obscurity, and the knight's reputation became more of an urban legend. However, there are those who continue to search for him, and as such there is the odd encounter or two among the most persistent of hunters.

There is much speculation as to what Eidolon's intentions are, many believe he is an agent of death, which is often explained by his unusual choice of hang outs, these often being areas where there are a large number of the dead, such as abandoned graveyards and battlefields or old nearly-forgotten tombs or catacombs.

Physical Description:
--Height: 6'5
--Weight: 165 lbs
--Eyes: unknown
--Hair: unknown
--Skin: unknown
--Special Markings: He's slightly luminescent.
--Special Traits: Tends to register as evil when magic is used to detect alignments, despite not actually being evil.
--Dress: He appears to be fully clad in ancient-looking full plate armor adorned with a flowing blood-red cape. The gauntlet on his left hand is the only part of the plate set that is actually tangible. (See: Ghostly Knight's Reflection)
Specials Description:
(Flourish) Cape of Illusion: Pretty straightforward, a sudden flourish of the cape. The cape will suddenly vaporize into a red mist which has no actual direct effect on it's own, but attempting to look through the mist will cause images to appear more as a silhouette. The silhouette is clearly visible as long as the object would be visible normally anyway but silhouettes are missing some of the details of the full image, which can make certain movements slightly more ambiguous. The mist only affects vision and only when attempting to gaze through it, it isn't a hallucinogenic or poison that can be inhaled or something. The mist is rather brief and only hangs around for one post. (Medium) 1x per battle.

Spectral Conduit: Being in tune with spectral forces has it's benefits, including the ability to channel spectral energy. At it's most basic level, one could channel this energy into an object of one's choosing. If an object charged with his energy makes contact with his opponent, they will suddenly receive the surge of energy, which isn't lethal but can cause the feeling of sudden chills going down the spine. (weak) 2x per battle 2 post cooldown.

Will-o-wisp: Once one is able to gather and channel energy, the next step is being able to project it in some way. The most basic Spectral construct is a will-o-wisp. A small softly glowing orb that floats about slowly. More than one of these spheres can be created at once, but the maximum number depends on the skill of the user. Each will-o-wisp is roughly the size of a tennis ball and will simply hover about near Eidolon when not in use. Once fully formed, the wisp can be sent flying up to 10 feet away. The impact of a single wisp isn't very impressive, and feels almost like a typical basic punch. However, if multiple wisps are used at once, the amount of force gradually goes up. The wisps can last for quite a bit, and Eidolon can move around while keeping it up, but maintaining each wisp requires concentration, so making any attempts to attack will cause any conjured wisps to instantly vanish. (weak) 1 post prep per wisp, 3x per battle.

ect.
Skills Description:
Ghost Knight's Reflection: A ghostly image is superimposed over Eidolon's figure, it's more or less a glamour but the image is that of a suit of armor, or perhaps someone wearing armor. The armor seems to be more than merely an illusion as it can interact with the real world, for instance, anything hitting the armor causes a metallic sound as if hitting actual armor. However, the resistance the armor offers is only just enough for something to be able to just touch it, after which it will usually phase through as if the armor were not there at all. As a result, while the image this creates is quite impressive, the armor itself offers no protection.(weak)

Uncanny Aura: Anyone observing Eidolon, especially for extended periods of time, will find themselves to experience a sense of danger even if they are not actually afraid of him or his appearance. This often causes him to seem less than trust worthy regardless of behavior or body language. How the observer reacts to this sensation is entirely up to them and their tolerance for the uncanny valley. This effect can be felt as long as the observer is immediately aware of Eidolon's presence but is usually strongest when he is in direct line of sight. (weak)

[If you want an example of the sensation mentioned here, try watching this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr_akME9l58 (Talking Android) or this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFfLCuHSZ-U (Potato Knishes) there's nothing actually scary in either video, but... yeah... Also for those interested in "the creeps" in case you haven't seen this yet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEikGKDVsCc]

Ethereal Language: Contrary to popular belief, Eidolon is actually capable of speech. Unfortunately his voice is only audible on the Ethereal plane. This means that only those who are tuned into the Ethereal plane can actually hear it. This usually means those who are dead or close to being dead. Typcially this means those who are bound by some sort of unfinished business which means they tend to fixate on whatever this business was and make for horrible one-dimensional conversation. Those who are undead can likely hear his voice as well. However, being able to speak with the dead does not mean having control over them, while he may be able to strike up conversation and gather information, usually after doing a favor and if they even reward him for doing so. Unfortunately, his uncanny vibes come into play here as well, which further compounds the issue for him, but it doesn't make conversation impossible, just rather uncomfortable for whoever is willing to humor him. Also, both participants must know the same language or have some other means of understanding one another in order for conversation to actually happen. (medium)

Racial:Archeology: Eidolon is well versed in archaeology which grants him the knowledge of how to discover obscure locations such as the graveyards and old battlefields he typically visits. Furthermore, this grants him knowledge of a dead language, which is useful for reading ancient writings found within some of these locations.

You know, It's the darnedest thing. But I remember you!
You were the second person to ever see my original character in action (one of 3).

Also, this site is just a tad dead if you hadn't noticed. (>_>)

Where "dead" means that we all watch this forum for posts, and then pounce on them. To make sure they know we're dead.
