ITT: Nerds.

Not that I'm above that or anything.

I'm just sayin'.

I don't think that having time zone issues would be TOO big of a deal. Some people might just be playing from the day into the evening while the others play from the evening into the day.

I'd still TOTALLY be down for some Skype DND. I am forced to do so with my friends.

SHUT UP I HAVE FRIENDS

I'm certain we're all capable.

I wouldn't mind taking that role.

Got a link to a digital copy of the latest handbook? I haven't done anything dnd related for about 5 years.

Yeah, I'm far more versed in the GURPS system than DnD. A refresher would definitely be good.

I'm relatively well versed in 4.0... much happier with 3.0 but 4.0 streamline character creation... so that makes me happy XD. Though I do like rolling my stats would we be doing that or not? i mean you couldn't really tell if we cheated that way unless we were totally point the camera at our hands and dice all at once... or if we were using some kind of online randomizer

I'm late to this but I have to put in my two cents.

I spent an ungodly amount of money and time on Magic when I was younger and had room mates(who I also played DnD with) but I've since given away all my stuff. I did buy a 2014 deck maker because some of my relatives wanted to get into it but I haven't played much yet.

My real passion right now is painting little plastic werewolves, robots and the people they love for games of Warmachine/Hordes(Warmahordes) and gothic cowboy mages for Malifaux. I did recently join a group who are starting up a Shadowrun campaign, too.

Anyway, I do love DnD but I think there are some amazing games that might work better online, especially for a group of people like us who lean more towards the story aspects of RPGs. Something like Dungeon World or maybe Warrior, Rogue, Mage. Or there is a ton of free stuff at 1km1kt.com and some of it is pretty great. The only reason I suggest any of this is because of how 4th edition relies a lot on character positioning for powers and stuff but I know there's plenty of tools out there that are like a virtual tabletop.

Oh and PS

Lol I just keep imagining Australia as some kind of weird real life Underdark.

You've pretty much hit it on the head, just add a few kangaroos and drop bears.
