Inventory: Leather full set, a small wooden shield and a short sword
Specials: Double Tap, Aggressive Strike, Immobilise
Skills List: Keen Awareness, Shield Expertise, Increased Stamina, Mass Control
--Eyes: Emerald Green
--Hair: Scruffy dark brown hair
--Special Markings: None, yet
--Dress: Kylar wears a tattered dark brown cape over his current armour of choice, with his shield strapped to his back and his sword sheathed at his side. He has a strip of cloth wrapped around his forehead to keep sweat and blood out of his eyes and his boots are almost always encrusted with mud and dust.
Double Tap is one of the fighter’s oldest and simplest techniques, however Kylar approaches it in a slightly different way to normal. By reducing his weight by a small amount, Kylar becomes fast enough to make two slightly weaker strikes in the time it normally takes him to make one (weak, Mass Control Special) 3x uses per battle
An offensive technique that is the opposite of Double Tap, Kylar increases his weight and slows his movements slightly, creating a single strike with almost double the force as a normal blow. (Weak, Mass Control Special) 2x uses per battle
A defensive technique, Kylar draws deep on his mass control ability and almost doubles his weight, slowing his movements a great deal but almost doubling his durability to blunt forces and increasing his strength for a short time, reducing the physical damage he would take from a single blow. The reduced speed means that Kylar is unable to attack while this special is activated. A side effect of this special is that all momentum affecting Kylar is greatly reduced, rendering him almost immobile. (Medium, Mass Control Special) 2x uses per battle
Kylar has lived out many roles during his life, however one thing they all had in common was the threat of danger. Because of this, Kylar has developed a Keen Awareness that lets him watch his foes closely, looking for repetitions in their movements. Kylar is very proficient at recognising repetitive specials or spells and has a moderately increased chance at dodging them. (Racial)
Kylar is a skilled user of a shield, and has spent many hours practicing using his shield offensively as well as defensively. Therefore he is quite proficient at using his shield as an offhand weapon. (Weak)
The life of a mercenary is quite demanding, and while Kylar has not been doing it for long he can already feel the different in his fitness. Kylar has higher than average stamina that lets him battle for longer than the average fighter. (Weak)
One weird ability that Kylar has developed over time is the ability to control his own weight. Kylar can make himself lighter or heavier at will, especially in RPs, however the demand of the ability means that during battle Kylar can only use it if he has practiced the move repetitively. Therefore Kylar needs skills or specials to make use of this ability in combat. Kylar can only increase or decrease his body mass by +/- 50% without putting harmful stress on his body. (Medium Catalyst)
When a stranger walks by Kylar, they barely spare him a second glance unless they are interested in relieving him from his money. Mercenaries are as common as Mud in the realm of Darkness Incarnate, yet there is something different about this one. Sure, he had a fabulous ability to control his own weight, but unique special abilities where almost as common as Mercenaries. No, what sets this Mercenary apart is his drive to reach a goal that only he knows.
Not much is own about Kylar’s history. The first recorded sighting of him was not too long ago, when he appeared battered and bruised on a river bank. A lone shepherd found him and nursed him back to health. His only possessions were a tattered brown cloak and the clothes on his back, but it didn’t take him long to scrounge up the basic tools for fighting and declare himself a mercenary. Now he set out to on a quest to improve his skills and gather allies, always striving towards a goal that only he could see. One thing was certain, you didn’t want to get in this mercenaries way.
