Dark elf Samurai based Agility Class: Shadow Manipulator

The tactics of a samurai who has learned to channel his natural ability to blend with shadows. Thus enabling him to use this ability to create or manipulate the shadows from the cover around him to better position himself for attacks. The shadow manipulator specializes in quick attacks that do heavy damage less often but are harder to avoid because of his natural talent to hide in shadows. The Underdark has been ruled by many sub nations of the dark elves and these warriors would be sent in as assassins specially trained in fast efficient killing.

What do you guys think?

Sounds like an advanced class, a samurai upgrade with Warlock/Assassin like abilities. Nice in princible but you'll have to earn a medal for it i should imagine. It's just too good in too many areas, the sword skill of a samuri, the sneakiness of an assasin with the shadow magic of a Warlock.

I was wondering what i could do to limit it and how much it would cost once boundaries are established.

If this is a new class suggestion I doubt it'll get accepted too much of a mix of other classes with little weakness or uniqueness.

If this is something you're wanting to do with your current character however...

* You can't edit your current class without a medal, so go win a tournament =D

* What you could do to achieve something similar to what you want above is:

- Firstly get a Medium Catalyst in Shadow Manipulation for you to be able to use shadow abilities
- Secondly get a medium skill in stealth as Samurai’s are not stealthy by nature
- Finally spend skills and specials for shadow manipulation skills and specials using the above Catalyst.

Will be fairly expensive and won't be as good as an advance class but it's a good start.

You might want to start with a different class. For example, the hardest part to attain for the class would probably be the shadow-manipulation. You could make a warlock with some sword skills and stealth, but good armor wouldn't be available. You might start with a stealth class and then use the method BK mentioned but trade getting stealth skills(since you'd be a stealth class) for weapon skills.

The problem with the class and getting it accepted is actually what would make it worth trying to create for yourself. It's too strong off the bat. The kind of power you want is the kind that you can only get after you've been here for a while.
